To carry on a previous post on our sponsored doctor Jana in Africa, we wanted to share with you the link to a beautiful video that was made of her time in South Africa, which includes much of the SHAWCO clinics. It shows patients at the mobile clinic of Sweet Home Farm in South Africa. Some of the patients in the film have just come in for a rash or back pain, others are dying of fulminant HIV AIDS or dehydration. Some of the patients in the footage are extremely unwell, so please be warned if you are sensitive to such content. There is footage of Shaun visiting one of the schools in the township. I hope you get a feel for the living conditions of the patients and therefore appreciate why they have the health problems that they do. These are very humbling pictures, but they they might shock the most sensitive viewers.
Nando’s Australia is a proud supporters of United Against Malaria and you too can take part by purchasing a UAM bracelet at any Nando’s restaurant in Australia. All proceeds go directly to the charity.

Hello,
I have a question about the bracelets. You say that all the proceeds go directly to charity, but the fine-print on the back of the packaging states that only $1 from each sale goes to the United Against Malaria fund. And yet each bracelet costs $4. What am I missing here?
Thank you,
Beau Gamble.
Hi,
Proceeds are used to purchase the beads and materials used to make the bracelets as well as pay unemployed HIV sufferers in Khayaletsha in Cape Town to make them. The balance of the funds are used to purchase and distribute the Malaria nets throughout Africa.
Hi, thanks for the reply.
So Nandos makes absolutely zero profit out of this thing, right?
Cheers,
Beau.
That’s correct.
Awesome, thanks for letting me know
