It’s a red letter day for our customers from Western Australia: today, throughout all our restaurants in Western Australia, we are launching our first loyalty program, the PERI-PERi Social Club!

Every time you make a purchase at a Nando’s in WA you’ll earn points that you will then be able to redeem against food in restaurants. Each member will also receive a free meal on their birthday! What’s more, from time to time, we’ll also email you with exclusive offers – just so that you feel little more special.

Visit the App Store from your iPhone or nandos.com.au/periclub from your smartphone to access the app and simply follow the steps. Once registered you’ll be able to scan your phone to earn and redeem points. Or you can also do it the old fashion way and pluck a card from the counter at your favourite Nando’s and you’re away!

Nando’s Coolangatta: Cooly Rocks On

Replacing the famous annual event Wintersun, Cooly Rocks On in its first year saw a week-long celebration of ‘Happy Days’ culture – a festival representing everything that was cool about the 1950s and ‘60s and everything that’s hot about 2011.

Despite the very challenging weather, the event estimated an attendance of 90,000 people with people coming from far and wide to see the live bands, beautiful hot rods and entertainment.

The event surrounded our Nando’s restaurant in Coolangatta, so we took the opportunity to let everyone know we were there by giving out balloons and vouchers.

Nando’s Manly: The Taste of Manly Food & Wine Festival

Food, Food, Food!!! The annual Taste of Manly was held on 4th and 5th June on the Manly beachfront and the entire festival is all about food. Nando’s had an exclusive invite to participate in the event and held a Nando’s at Home stall selling three sauces for $10.

The surfers at Manly love their PERi-PERi chilli sauces as the bottles sold out on both days at the event. We expect that holding a stall at this event it will promote our Manly Nando’s restaurant which is primarily located on Manly Wharf.

Melbourne Good Food & Wine Show

The annual Good Food and Wine Show was held on 3rd, 4th and 5th June at the Melbourne Convention Centre. Nando’s once again got involved and this year the involvement was stepped up to be even more interactive with the crowds.

We had a professional chef cooking up delicious Nando’s at Home recipes and showed the crowds how easy cooking was with PERi-PERi. The menu over the three days consisted of PERi-Potato Salad, Chicken Coconut Curry and Easy Peezy Prawns. These meals were extremely popular with big crowds lining up to try them. On the other side of the stall Nando’s sold three NAH sauces for $10. This event will help all restaurants drive the NAH sales for the quarter two incentive. The Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide shows are still to come so stay tuned!

Nando’s Canterbury & Bankstown: Campsie Festival

The Campsie Festival was held on 4th June and Nando’s made a huge impression on the large crowds! There was loads of PR in the lead up to the big event with the Nando’s Eating Competition being mentioned in local press numerous times. The event day was huge! Nando’s had a stall which was selling Nando’s at Home sauces and cooking up tenders to sample to the large crowds. The PERi-PERi Challenge eating competition was extremely exciting with the participants having to eat 11 tenders basted in the entire range of PERi-PERi bastings: BBQ, Lemon & Herb, Mild, Hot and Extra Hot. The winner was the only person able to eat this large plate of food! The second round was a vegetarian eating competition and the competitors had to eat five entire veggie burger! The event was a huge success and we expect the crowds to rush back to our restaurants.

Nando’s relationship with the Cronulla Sharks just keeps growing! It could be because of all of the PERi-PERi that the teams are being fed. Last week a competition was put into place in the restaurant to drive sales: Purchase any meal and go into the draw to win tickets to the next Shark’s home game.

Nando’s Calamvale: JDM Meet

On 6th June 2011 Nando’s Calamvale hosted the monthly JDM car meet this past Monday. Every month the car club gets together to shows off their cars and grabs a bite to eat. Monday night’s event was the biggest they have seen with an estimated 450 + cars showing up.

The meet time was set at 7.30pm, but by that time, the upstairs car park at Calamvale Central (200 spaces) was completely full. By 8pm the security were so kind as to open up the lower car park of 250-spaces, it very quickly became full and cars were overflowing up the car park exit.

We had PERi Squad on the ground giving out delicious PERi–PERi chicken nibbles and PIP cards. We offered a 10% discount to all JDM members, they greatly appreciated it.
The night was a huge success and increased sale by 70%.
